It is important to keep an eye on your trees, disease can spread through trees rapidly, so it’s important to keep a regular surveillance routine to prevent the spread of infection.

The current Chalara Ash Dieback disease is a horrific example of how a disease can rapidly spread and decimate thousands of trees.
Chalara Ash Dieback is a fatal fungal disease of ash trees, it first appeared in UK in 2012 and quickly spread and now affects ash trees and woodlands all over Sussex and over the whole of the UK, it has led to the death of thousands of trees.

There is no cure for ash dieback, but fortunately some ash trees can resist or tolerate the infection. Natural resistance is the best hope to secure a future for the UK’s ash trees.
